Thredline

Privacy Policy

Last updated 15 September 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Thredline ("Thredline," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website and application at thredline.com (the "Service"). Thredline provides trend and competitive-intelligence tools for apparel brands: it reads the catalogs a brand nominates, its own connected store, and reports what was observed.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you sign up or sign in, we collect the information provided by our authentication provider (Clerk) and, if you choose to sign in with Google, the basic profile information Google shares with us: your name, email address, and profile photo.

Store and business data. If you connect your store (for example a Shopify store) to Thredline, we access the store and catalog data needed to provide the Service, such as product listings, variants, pricing, availability, and order history. We do not access your store's account credentials directly; access is authorized through the store platform's own permission system and can be revoked there at any time.

Competitor catalog data. To provide competitive reads, we read publicly available catalog information from the brands you nominate in your workspace, such as product listings, prices, and availability. We store derived figures and thumbnails, not wholesale copies of those catalogs, and we only read brands that a workspace has nominated.

Usage data. We automatically collect information about how you use the Service, including pages visited, features used, log data, device and browser information, and approximate location derived from IP address.

Cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the Service is used.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including authenticating your account;
  • Deliver trend and competitive-intelligence reads based on your connected store, the catalogs you nominate, and public market data;
  • Communicate with you about your account, updates, and support requests;
  • Monitor and improve the Service, including troubleshooting and analytics;
  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or security issues;
  • Comply with legal obligations.

3. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information with:

  • Service providers who help us operate Thredline, including Clerk (authentication), Vercel (hosting), Neon (database), and analytics providers, each of whom is authorized to use your information only as necessary to provide services to us.
  • Google, when you choose to sign in with Google, subject to Google's own privacy practices.
  • Your store platform (for example Shopify), to the extent required to retrieve the store data you have authorized us to access.
  • Legal and safety purposes, if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Thredline, our users, or others.
  • Business transfers: if Thredline is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

4. Google User Data

If you sign in with Google, we receive only your name, email address, and profile photo. We use them to create and identify your account and to contact you about it. We do not use Google user data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not share it with third parties except the service providers named above who process it on our behalf. You can disconnect Google or delete your account at any time.

5. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account and associated data as described below.

6. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including isolating each workspace's data at the database level. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below. You can also disconnect your Google account or your store, or delete your Thredline account, at any time.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

9. International Data Transfers

Thredline is operated from the United States, and information we collect may be processed and stored in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated to you as required by law.
